COURSE DESCRIPTION

A five-day, all-inclusive executive immersion at a private luxury Texas ranch with former CEO & Consultant Dan Dumas and Navy SEAL & Non-profit founder Jared Price. Built to deliver mission alignment, decisive leadership, and operational execution that scales. Participants receive high-end interactive instruction paired with practical field training from proven change leaders in business, special operations, and crisis response through dynamic teaching, live-fire marksmanship fundamentals, and high-fidelity team simulations—all combined with curated 600+ acre ranch recreation experience that strengthens cohesion and rejuvenates team synergy to accomplish the next mission.

Evaluate their leadership style and its applicability to the organizations multidirectional mission.

Participants Will

DEFINE THE MISSION

A Multidirectional Mission is defined as a complex end state with emerging objectives that require a spectrum of alternating activities and efforts. While not all organizations have multidirectional missions, understanding the tools needed to successfully accomplish this type of mission can significantly benefit leaders and teams in any organization. Participants will learn how analyze a military mission statement, operationally nest objectives and key tasks, and decisively select the most effective and efficient activities and efforts to accomplish the mission.

Take Command

Organizational charts place the leader at the top of a team, department, or company. This position carries formal authority and power derived from title and structure. Consequently, leaders are often tempted to rely on positional authority to drive results. Such influence, rooted in power and fear, can be effective in achieving short-term objectives but rarely sustains long-term mission success. Leaders tasked with multidirectional missions cannot depend on authority alone; their effectiveness requires moving beyond the limits of title and position. Instead, they achieve lasting impact by fostering organizational ownership through applying a spectrum of transforming leadership techniques.

Plan Backwards

Venus and Serena Williams, two of the world’s most elite tennis players, were repeatedly told by their father, Richard, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.” Strategic planning is critical to mission success and multidirectional mission execution starts with planning backwards. By starting first with the desired outcome and then planning what is necessary to achieve it increases effectiveness and

efficiency in execution. Participants will learn principles of Special Operations planning to drive innovation, decrease inefficiencies, and propel mission success.

Kill Complacency

Leading a multidirectional mission requires acknowledging that the greatest threats to mission success often come from within. Complacency justifies doing something wrong because of a previous right. This is a mental state. Typically associated with cutting corners, complacency develops an unhealthy acceptance of suboptimal performance, high risk, and poor decision-making, often leading to catastrophic failures. The odd paradox with complacency is that it forms in leaders and teams with high capacity and high competency. Participants will spend time analyzing themselves and their teams for complacency creep and receive tools for combating and countering its effects.

Lead the Fight

Special Operations leaders tend to naturally gravitate toward utilizing the core components of transformational and transactional leadership to execute their multidirectional mission. Within this leadership construct are five special operations principles that these elite communities use to achieve mission success in war. A multidirectional missions require adaptive, innovative, time-sensitive, complex, and consequential decision-making. Leaders and their teams can utilize these same tools as a framework to effectively navigate the fight facing their organization. Participants will be challenged to lean into their leadership responsibilities with courage, character, competency, and conviction.
